THE 1ST BANGLADESH BRANCH INSTITUTE OF INDUSTRIAL SCIENCE,
THE UNIV. OF TOKYO ALUMNI PARTY
The 1st Bangladesh Branch IIS Alumni Party was held on Friday, December 8, 2023, at the Bangladesh University of Technology (BUET). Professor Mehedi Ahmed Ansary (from IIS U-Tokyo Meguro's laboratory) became the first representative of the Bangladesh IIS Alumni Association. BUET is home to the Bangladesh Network Office for Urban Safety (BNUS), the overseas base of IIS, and its representative is also Professor Ansary. A total of 32 people from 1994 to 2022 attended the alumni party. Under the moderation of Assistant Professor Khin Myat Kyaw, Professor Ansary, the first representative, gave an inaugural address, Professor Kimuro Meguro explained the purpose of establishing the branch, and Professor Wataru Takeuchi read the opening speech by Toru Okabe, Director of Honjo. Afterward, we had dinner and a discussion. All the participants reported on their current situation and had a lively conversation with nostalgic stories from their time at the IIS.
